Supervision and Mentoring

The Emotional Freedom Techniques Training Academy

All accredited psychological therapists have a supervision requirement in their code of ethics. Supervision is recognised as both invaluable and essential, however experienced the therapist. Mentoring is now a requirement for all AAMET registered practitioners.

Supervision or mentoring is important to a practising therapist in a number of different ways. It allows the therapist access to a more experienced practitioner who can offer support with cases, identify skill gaps and give guidance regarding additional training. Support can also be given with management and administration issues in the therapists practice. Most importantly, mentoring can offer a safe and comfortable place for the therapist to explore issues that may be coming up for them in their therapeutic work (known as countertransference). Recognising when clients “push our buttons” helps us to keep our stuff out of the therapy room, not as easy as it might sound! Supervision and mentoring are carried out in an atmosphere of mutual respect and empathy.

Both Judy and Richard are accredited supervisors (Judy with NCH, Richard with NCP) and are available to offer supervision and mentoring to EFT practitioners, either one-to-one or in groups. Judy is available in South London and Richard is in West London. For groups a central London venue is available. Mentoring by phone or Skype is also available. Please contact us for details:

MENTORING GROUP IN LONDON, November 10th 2012 and March 2nd 2013 :

Richard and Judy will be running our next one day mentoring group in Central London (venue to be confirmed) on November 10th. The day offers practitioners the opportunity to present cases to the group for discussion and feedback and to share successful cases with the group. For part of the day we will also be offering help and guidance on practice building.

Richard and Judy have a wealth of experience to offer to help practitioners build a successful, professional and ethical practice. There will also be time for general questions, and it should be an interesting and informative day.
The cost for the day is £97, please contact Richard on info@eft-academy.co.uk if you are interested.
