EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques - releases negative feelings whether they are emotional or physical, and whether they refer to the past, the present or the future. It is an energy therapy that starts from the premise that what troubles us is not what happens or has happened or may happen to us but what happens to our bodies' energy systems in response to these things. It works by rebalancing the energy to eliminate the effect of the disruption.

It can be deceptively simple - and richly complex. Beginners can often get amazing results. People who have studied it in more depth find they can work successfully at increasingly sophisticated levels and with problems that are otherwise seemingly intractable.

EFT uses tapping on points on the head and body that cover the major meridians of the body while focusing on what it is that the person wants to deal with. It can trace its ancestry to acupuncture in ancient China and acupressure in Japan. Since its development by Californian Gary Craig, this 21st century energy therapy has spread around the world with remarkable rapidity. Therapists on every continent have found it an invaluable addition to their toolkits for clients and for themselves. Clients have found it not only incredibly empowering, but also an amazing self-help technique.

EFT has been used successfully on a whole range of physical and emotional conditions. These include pain control, panic/anxiety, depression, stress, addictive behaviours, PTSD, weight control and many more.
